The results of the work conducted in the context of the project “Human Rights of people experiencing in poverty” that serves as a basis for the Conference of 21-22 February 2013 are developed in two publications of the Council of Europe:
- The Guide Living in dignity in the XXIst century: Poverty and Inequality, a paradox in societies of Rights and Democracy? This publication was written collectively by actors from different backgrounds, including academics, members of associations and networks of people experiencing in poverty. It provides a critical review of the current situation, analyzing inequalities and poverty through the prism of human rights, democracy and redistributive policies. The guide also explores pathes for a renewed strategy to fight poverty based on common goods and the sharing of social responsibilities.
- The number 25 of the series Trends in Social Cohesion focused on poverty and inequalities, analyzed from the perspective of human rights, democracy and common goods. It includes articles on specific topics. See the table of contents.
We also invite you to read extracts of the texts produced for the project following the discussions of the working groups and that are at the basis of the two publications: Food for thought.
